Job Summary
Curro Durbanville has a position available for a Temp Aftercare Assistant.
Job Description
- Work closely with the phase and class teachers to support the effective running of the phase and grade.​
- Help create and maintain a positive, structured and educational classroom atmosphere that supports teaching and learning.​
- Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities under the guidance of the teacher.​
- Support the management of learner behaviour in line with school policies and classroom routines.​
- Take responsibility for the proper use, care and safekeeping of school equipment, resources and stock assigned to the class and teacher.​
- Assist with the organisation, supervision and promotion of sport and cultural activities within the school.​
- Support teachers and the school with sport, co-curricular and administrative duties as and when required.​
- Provide general classroom and administrative support, including preparation of materials, basic record keeping and communication with learners where appropriate.​
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to education and willingness to contribute actively to the values, ethos and co-curricular life of the school.
Key Skills / Requirements
- Grade 12
- A passion for working with children
- Previous experience in an aftercare or childcare environment will be an advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- A caring, patient and responsible approach
- Clear criminal record
